Patenting an idea that has yet to be patented is one way to create intellectual property--don't be fooled, it's a long-term commitment and it's expensive!  However, when you couple patented formulas with clinical validation studies, you can rule a category.  Don't plan on changing the formula after you have created this IP...keep with a winner that works!
